Okay so here we are in the middle of a kiwi summer freezing our butts off in Christchurch waiting for the first leg of our journey. Christchurch to Auckland. It was a bit of a pain checking in because we had to get our visas checked out and our baggage weighed. Mine was lighter than Mick's by 3kg. I was proud of my 6kg achievement. First time I've had less baggage than him!
A good feed of Burger King (which was surprisingly yummy - sorry for all the times I slagged you off BK) prepared us for our fight and the three our wait to board in. We did contemplate noodles but Mick pointed out that we may be living in them for the next few weeks.
In Te departure lounge we are being entertained by historical soundtracks. Currently Paul McCartney and Wings are bleeding out "Band On the Run". Every now and again some chick with a posh voice informs us that this is are a safety conscious airport. I feel like yelling out, "don't you know that hyperthermia is hazardous to your health?". It's bloody freezing. We even had to get a hot chocolate and a mocha to help us warm up. What is with that? Beer is supposed to be the liquid you hydrate with at the airport but it is too bloody cold for that!
